The evening brought together the city’s vibrant architecture and interior design fraternity for an engaging, insight-driven gathering. Reflecting Bengaluru’s dynamic and forward-thinking design culture, the event celebrated local practices while introducing broader global perspectives. It created a compelling platform for industry leaders, emerging voices, and design enthusiasts to connect, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue.

An Engaged Community, Sparked with New Momentum.
The audience brought together a diverse mix of architects, interior designers, studio founders, emerging practices, and project leaders. What stood out throughout the evening was the consistent level of engagement, with attendees actively involved from beginning to end. The environment felt deeply connected to Bengaluru’s design ecosystem, marked by familiar faces, authentic interactions, and conversations grounded in the city’s evolving context.
Even after the formal programme concluded, many participants stayed back, continuing discussions well into the evening. This reflected one of Design Perspective’s key strengths creating a setting where meaningful exchanges extend beyond the event, fostering ongoing dialogue within the community.

Tropical Narratives: Crafting Architecture in Dialogue with Nature and Vernacular Wisdom
Ar. Ignacio (Nacho) Atienza, Biombo Architects presented a design philosophy rooted in nature, context, and tropical living, shaped by his practice in Bali. He emphasized learning from local culture and vernacular architecture, integrating indoor-outdoor spaces, and using passive design strategies. Through project examples, he showcased how thoughtful materiality and spatial planning can enhance wellbeing, creating immersive, sustainable environments that prioritize experience, emotion, and harmony with nature.

India as a Catalyst: Designing Through Context, Collaboration and Future Urban Growth
Ar. Jonas Upton-Hansen, UHA shared his journey of building an international practice through India, highlighting the importance of relationships, cultural understanding, and adaptability. He spoke about lessons from working with Vastu, construction realities, and evolving client expectations. His session focused on emerging trends like wellness, sustainability, community living, and flexible design, emphasizing India’s massive growth potential and the responsibility to create future-ready, high-density urban environments.

Where Conversations Turned into Connections
While the formal sessions set the tone, it was the interactions that followed that truly defined the evening. The transition into a more relaxed setting felt natural, with attendees lingering, exchanging contacts, sharing insights, and building on ideas sparked during the programme. Many of these conversations hinted at potential collaborations and future engagements, making the experience feel less like a one-time event and more like the start of ongoing professional relationships.
