Designing with Purpose: CollectiveProject’s Slow and Contextual Approach to Architecture
Cyrus Patel and Eliza Higgins of CollectiveProject offered an insightful look into a practice shaped by contrasting perspectives, careful observation and responsible design. Describing themselves as a “slow practice,” they highlighted an architectural approach rooted in detail, material honesty and hyper-local responses rather than speed, scale or form alone. Through projects in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, they demonstrated how spatial experiences, local materials, site conditions and intuitive planning can come together to create buildings that are precise, personal and deeply connected to their surroundings.

Architecture as a Response: Designing Through Experience, Material and Place
Rohit Mankar of Architecture BRIO offered an insightful look into his firm’s evolving design philosophy through three core values: architecture as experience, material honesty and the site as a generator. Presenting projects in Alibaug, Hyderabad and Kaziranga, he demonstrated how light, climate, craftsmanship, ecology and material experimentation can shape meaningful spaces. From an inward-looking retreat and a home built around a natural boulder to a flood-responsive resort, the session revealed an architectural approach rooted in careful observation, prototyping and designing buildings that respond thoughtfully to people and place.

Connecting the Minds Behind Chandigarh’s Built Environment
As the evening unfolded, conversations extended beyond the stage, bringing together architects, interior designers, consultants, developers, and industry professionals who continue to shape Chandigarh’s distinguished design landscape. Discussions focused on sustainable architecture, innovative materials, emerging technologies, and creating spaces that balance contemporary needs with the city’s celebrated planning legacy.
